About
Meg Boscawen
Meg is a decorative artist based in London. She hand-paints murals and furniture, and has quite a multidisciplinary approach
to her work.
After having a background in textiles at Leeds Art University, she graduated in 2019. Painting on fabrics and paper wasn't quite enough, and in 2020, she trained under decorative artists Lizzi Porter and Alistair Erskine. Nowadays, Meg collaborates with various interior designers as well as private clients and has recently been named a rising star by House and Garden. Meg likes not to be too focused on one subject and is now accustomed to working in different decorative disciplines. Her work translates into various subject matters and is constantly evolving.
Meg transforms blank spaces into immersive worlds. Collaborating with brands, private clients, and interior designers from conception through to completion, she pairs technical expertise with a love of storytelling. Her murals have turned nurseries into blossoming gardens, children’s bedrooms into striped circus tents, and rooftops into skyward gardens alive with birds, vines, and light. Whether indoors or outdoors, across sweeping ceilings or along the smallest skirting boards, Meg approaches each project with imagination and precision to bring your ideas to life.
Meg extends her mural style to furniture, transforming everyday objects into beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces. Each design is carefully conceived in close collaboration with clients, reimagining everyday pieces into works created to be both lived with and loved. She works across wood, joinery, and bespoke fittings, using hand-painted detail to bring the design to life. Past projects have included a wooden dresser painted with the loose scallops, circles, and looping borders favoured by the Bloomsbury Group; cosy children’s cabin beds with folk-inspired detailing, and a wooden chest in the charmingly imperfect style of Ludwig Bemelmans.
